Hurghada nightlife at a glance
Hurghada is one of the liveliest places to go out on Egypt's Red Sea coast. A typical night moves from a sunset drink by the water to dinner, then on to a bar, a beach party or a club. Some visitors stay in their resort, where many hotels run their own bars and evening entertainment; others head into town, where the streets around the marina and Sheraton Road stay lively until late. This guide covers where to go out, when to go, what to wear, how to get there and back safely, and what shapes the cost of a night.
Where to go out: the main areas
Most of Hurghada's nightlife sits in a few areas along the coast. Sakkala, in the center of town, is where many visitors start, and Sheraton Road, which runs through it, is lined with cafés, restaurants, shops and bars. Hurghada Marina, close by, gathers restaurants and bars around the yacht harbor and makes an easy first stop for the evening. Further south, the El Mamsha promenade runs along the sea with cafés, shops and places to eat, and Village Road continues past many of the big resorts. Sahl Hasheesh, south of Hurghada, is a quieter resort bay where evenings mostly center on the hotels.
When to go: seasons, nights and start times
Hurghada is warm all year, so there is nightlife in every season, but the crowd changes. From autumn to spring, many visitors come from Europe to escape the cold, and the evenings are mild. Summer is hot and brings Egyptian holidaymakers, especially around public holidays, when the town is at its fullest. Christmas, New Year and the main holiday weeks are usually the busiest dates of the year. Nights start late: people tend to eat late, and many clubs only fill up close to midnight before going on into the early hours. If you like a quieter room, go earlier; if you want the peak of the party, there's no need to rush.
What to wear, and ID at the door
Smart-casual works almost everywhere: a shirt or a neat top, trousers, jeans or a dress, and proper shoes. Beach bars are relaxed, but some clubs turn away beachwear, sportswear or flip-flops at night, so if you're unsure, dress up a little. Away from the resorts and party venues, Hurghada is an Egyptian town, and dressing a little more modestly in the street is appreciated. Age limits are set by each venue and door staff may ask for proof of age, so carry your passport or national ID card. Where a venue has told us its dress code or minimum age, it is shown on its page.
Getting there and getting home safely
Hurghada stretches a long way along the coast, so getting from a resort to town usually means a taxi or a ride app. With a street taxi, agree the fare before you get in; a ride app shows the price before you ride. Ask your hotel reception what a fair fare is, keep the hotel's name and address on your phone, and carry some Egyptian pounds in small notes. Go out in a group if you can, keep your drink with you, and plan how you'll get back before the night starts. In summer it stays hot even after dark, so drink plenty of water, especially after a day in the sun.
What a night out costs
Prices vary by venue, by night and by season, so treat any figure you hear as a rough guide. Some places charge entry on party nights and not on quieter ones, special events usually cost more, and a reserved table often comes with a minimum spend. Prices are usually in Egyptian pounds. Each night's page on YallaTonight shows its price and the details the venue gives.
More than clubs
Hurghada's nights don't only happen in clubs. Yacht parties head out from the marinas with music on deck, beach clubs run from the afternoon into the evening, and a desert evening with dinner under the stars is a popular trip. El Gouna, a short drive north, has its own scene around Abu Tig Marina and Downtown. Each of these has its own page on YallaTonight.
